Smile! You're on the Intra-Oral Camera!

Jupiter may have its giant red spot known as "the eye," but we have our "tiny eye in the mouth" - a dental intra-oral camera. A small video camera is used inside the mouth to document dental conditions to aid in diagnosis and patient education. For years, we have described diseases of the teeth and gums and drawn pictures to attempt to illustrate the problem and the needed treatment. The old adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" could not be more true when using the intra-oral camera. We find new uses for the camera all the time.
